Almost forty years ago, the late Richard Houston first began offering his groundbreaking range of 25mm cast metal Naval Guns and Ship Fittings, and these have sold widely and well ever since. However, with the loss of the Master Castings in the dim past, and the original production molds finally burning out, it began to look as though the range would have to be trimmed as some items became impossible to make with any quality.

But advancing technology has come to the rescue!  TVAG's Sculptor/Casting and 3D Printing Master, Chris Ferree, applied his electronic calipers to Richard's original designs and has begun reproducing them as high quality resin prints. These are fully identical replacements, but with features not possible in white metal castings, including "hollow" barrels. The resin itself is of the highest quality, in light gray or black color, and ready to paint without need of priming.

As the Houston Collection--for such it still is--transitions from casting to printing, more items will be replaced, and with each redesign not only can finer details be added to each weapon, but entirely new guns and ship fittings are already being added to expand the range.

Resin printed substitutions (with new photos) will be marked "R," while white metal castings will continue to be offered.
